PROPER ANGLING

It was a blessing that Mendel and Jo-Ann were so cooperative that they voluntarily agreed when advised to have a pre-nuptial documentary. In fact, they cooperated splendidly and voluntarily acted on their own. One the most challenging aspect in wedding documentary is how to gain the confidence and to build a rapport with the subject. Unlike actors and actresses who knows their angles and proper posing before the camera (Mendel and Jo-Ann were actor and actress, respectively, in their own rights), the couple are usually not comfortable with a camera capturing every details of their movement. We usually remind the couple to stare at the red light when its a video camera and look at the lense of the still camera then pose properly in angles best suited for their faces to be well defined. They can stare at the mirror every morning and look at themselves as if they are in front of a camera then laugh!

Mendel and Jo-Ann were exceptionally superb. Pouring out their emotion naturally, the main ingridient of the succesful taping we have for their Pre-Nuptial Shoot. With this development the couple can be at ease when the actual wedding happens. Preparation is the main factor in every wedding documentary. Unlike in a shooting where the director could yell cut! Weddings is a once in a lifetime affair, the rest will be history. How the bride and the groom looks at the camera largely depends on their cooperation. The documentors and lensmen are just mediums who conveys how the couple acted during the affair.
